Getting your Wing Mirror Painted

Mirror Painting

Most modern cars will have “colour coded” mirrors, or mirror covers. This means it has been sprayed to match the vehicle colour.

When buying a replacement full mirror or mirror cover, be aware that they will not be supplied sprayed, and this could be a further cost if is it required.

Spraying a mirror will involve the following process.

  • Preparation
  • Primer Coat
  • Flatting back primer
  • Colour coat
  • Flatting back colour coat
  • Clear lacquer coat
  • Finishing - Cutting and polishing

If colour coding is going to be needed, we recommend ordering a primed mirror or mirror cover, as this saves steps 1 & 2 above, and will slightly reduce the cost of spraying.

Some customers will be confident to purchase the sprays locally and colour match their mirrors, however most customers will opt for a local body shop or repair centre to complete this job.
