What parts make up a Thule WingBar Edge roof bar system?

The Thule WingBar Edge roof bar series requires four separate parts to enable you to assemble the full kit to your car. This includes the solid bars that sit across the top of your car, the feet to attach the bar to sides of your car roof, a fitting kit that enables you to put the kit together securely and locks to secure the roof bar system into place and to remove the bars when not in use. To take the hassle away from finding what those parts are, we’ve created Thule WingBar Edge bundles that fit a range of car makes and models. All you need to do is pop your car registration into the yellow box at the top of the page and we’ll list all the roof bar bundles that are tailored to fit your car.

What makes the Thule WingBar Edge so sleek in design?

The Thule WingBar Edge differs from its sister product the WingBar Evo as it fits lower on your car roof making it more disguisable and gives more of an integrated look. It also boasts a rubber strip down the centre of the bar, offering added protection to carriers laid across the bars. The Thule WingBar Edge is available in both silver and black, giving you the option to choose a set that complements your car colour and matching accessories.

What is the weight limit of the Thule WingBar Edge roof bar?

The Thule WingBar Edge can carry up to 75kg worth of weight when the car is in motion, the BoxBeam internal structure creates a remarkably strong roof rack. We also recommend checking your car manufacturer guide to double check that your vehicle can also manage this much load when on the road, if this is less than 75kg you can still use the Thule WingBar Edge roof bar system but we’d recommend following the lower load if your car manufacture recommends it.

How do I piece together my Thule WingBar Edge roof bars?

Installing the Thule WingBar Edge couldn’t be simpler, with a built-in t-track slot, mounting bike racks, kayak carriers, roof boxes only need to be slid onto the bars, clicked into place and tightened for a secure fit. The WingBar Edge bars are perfect for transporting a range of heavy items including holiday luggage, cargo and various sporting devices. Carrying bulky goods on the top of your vehicle not only keeps your interior clear of mud/dirt but also maximises on space so you have more room for passengers and smaller goods.

Can I buy the parts for a Thule WingBar Edge separately?

If you’ve done your research and know the roof bar width, the feet pack sizes, the correct fitting kit and locks to put together the system yourself you can build your own package (although buying our pre-built sets will be the more affordable option). However, if you’ve recently invested in a new car and want to use your existing Thule WingBar Edge roof bars on it then you could potentially carry some of those parts over and replace the elements that are missing. Get in touch with us if this is the case and we’ll be able to advise what parts fit your new vehicle and if any current parts can be used on it. Moreover, if an existing part is damaged, we sell the parts individually so you don’t have to fork out for a new roof bar system again.

Do Thule WingBar Edge roof bars whistle when driving?

Thule WingBar Edge roof bars are one of the quietest roof rack systems on the market, Thule have invested in WingDiffuser technology that disturbs the airflow in the gap that runs between your car roof and the bottom of the roof bars. This reduces noise drastically and has been known to improve fuel economy efficiency.
