The History of Farad Roof Bars
Who Are Farad?

Understanding the Roof Bar Package
Includes three main components
Choosing the right Farad roof bars for your vehicle depends on how you plan to use them, your budget, the style you prefer, how important wind noise is, and whether your accessories use T-track or U-clamps.
Usage: for regular use with roof boxes, bike racks or other sporting carriers, the aerodynamic aluminium wing bars are usually best. For roof boxes or roof tents the Farad Pro range using the aluminium wing bars would be more suited as it positions the bars slightly higher from the vehicle roof for added clearance (roof tents must not be used on vehicles without any rails or fixed points available). For occasional use, steel bars work fine for bikes and boxes and are a cost-effective option.
Budget: steel square bars are typically the cheapest option, while aluminium aerodynamic bars cost more but are lighter, quieter and more premium.
Style: aerodynamic bars have a more modern, low-profile look, while square bars are more traditional and practical. The Farad Pro range offers more security and features that give it a more integrated look over the Farad Hilo range.
Noise: aerodynamic bars produce less wind noise, especially at motorway speeds. Square bars are usually noisier but perfectly fine for occasional use.
T-Track or U-Clamp Accessories: if your accessories use T-track mounting, you’ll need aerodynamic wing bars with a top channel. If your accessories use U-clamps, they normally fit square steel bars.
The easiest way to find the correct Farad roof bars is to search roof bars by registration or your vehicle make, model and year.
Yes, replacement Farad spare parts are available for most roof bar systems. We offer replacement bars, replacement foot packs and replacement fitting kits.
These are ideal if part of your existing roof bar kit has been damaged, or if you are changing vehicles and only need one or two additional components to create a compatible roof bar system, rather than buying a completely new set.
If you are unsure what parts are required to rebuild a set, then Contact Us and one of you experts will be happy to help.
