What do open roof rails look like?

Look at the roof of your vehicle and you'll easily know if your car has rails, you'll notice two fixed bars that run parallel to each other. They start at the rear and run just above the doors towards the front of the vehicle. Open rail bars are solid but will have a gap between the car roof and base of the bar of a few centimetres. Roof bars designed to fit open rail roofs tend to have a gap big enough for foot pack to wrap around to secure them into place.
